Junction Box

• Stainless steel, AISI 316L, is suitable for outdoor use (the use of a rain shelter is recommended) since it has excellent corrosion resistance and resistance to UV radiation. This material is suitable for demanding industrial environments – for example, in the food industry and Oil & Gas industry. Additionally, stainless steel is very practical as it needs scarcely any maintenance. Customizing is, however, more difficult than with painted steel.

• Aluminum has high impact resistance, a wide temperature resistance range and excellent corrosion resistance. The disadvantages of aluminum include machining problems. Since enclosures made of this material are difficult to machine, we recommend that you to let us customize them for you.

Degrees of protection provided by enclosures

• IP code (European standard EN 60529) The IP code consists of the letters IP followed by two digits and an optional letter.
The first digit of the code classifies the degrees of protection provided against the intrusion of solid objects and dust.
In turn, the second digit, stands for protection against liquids.
The optional letter can be appended to classify only the level of protection against access to hazardous parts by people.
All enclosures are designed for use in demanding environments.
Their IP code ranges between IP 55 and IP 66/67.
We have also made customer-specific solutions with an IP 69K rating that covers high-pressure, high-temperature wash-down applications. These applications are dust tight and able to withstand high pressure and steam cleaning.
